Stephanie Steinkopf
It is the encounters with people that shape me and it is photography that enables me to learn more about life in all its facets. I immerse myself in the living and working worlds of my protagonists and translate my experiences into images. In this moment, photography is part of the experience, part of the encounter. My approach explores the possible relationships between reality, staging and fiction. I find this tension a challenge.
weekend seminar

In our weekend seminar we deal with contemporary documentary photography. The human being with his personal and social environment is in the focus, which is why we will increasingly deal with the portrait. At the beginning, we will discuss together which topics interest the participants and on the basis of joint work and image discussions, we will explore the possible photographic means of composition as well as conceptual documentary strategies. Through examples of contemporary photographic positions, a visit to an exhibition and a guest, we will deepen this discussion.
With this seminar offer, I pursue the consolidation of one’s own visual language by working intensively on a project over the course of a year. The resulting series will be presented in a jointly curated exhibition.
