Robert Lyons Biography

Robert Lyons (b. 1954) lives and works in Berlin, Germany and Massachusetts. He holds an M.F.A. from Yale University and worked closely with Minor White, Jerome Liebling and Helen Levitt. He has taught in the USA and Europe. Robert Lyons is director of the masters program at the University of Hartford (USA). His work has been widely exhibited in the United States and Europe and is represented in numerous permanent collections including: Addison Gallery of American Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art-NYC, Seattle Art Museum and the University of Washington – Henry Art Gallery. He has published four books – the latest, Intimate Enemy: Voices and Images from the Rwandan Genocide-Zone Books 2006.
